Dogs wear clothes for one reason – their owners want them to wear them. Dog owners dress their dogs for the same reasons they dress themselves and their children. In fact, many dog owners think of their dogs as their children and buy them clothes, dog scarfs and groom them to show how much they care for them.

Protective clothing for small dogs and toys like Boston Terriers, Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Maltese, Pugs, and any kind of mini or mug dog is a good idea. If you like sewing, you can buy patterns for wearing blankets, pillows, dog coats, dog coats, warm paws and boots for your dog, as well as matching scarves and hats.
These dogs tend to feel cold more strongly than larger dogs – so they don't like walking their owners out in the rain, snow or cold. They even refuse to leave the bathroom in inclement weather, making it difficult to accommodate this breed of toy dog in cold or humid weather.
For wet weather there are raincoats and hats made of waterproof vinyl or nylon, as well as rain boots. These boots are usually attached with Velcro and/or zippers. Fur, wool and wool-lined coats are available to keep your dog warm in cold weather.
Boots are useful for protecting your dog's feet from the effects of ice and salt. On hot summer days, sensitive feet should wear sandals to protect them from hot asphalt or sand. You can also buy sunglasses for your dog, but you may want to discuss this with your vet to see if they are beneficial for your dog's eyes.
